Rudraksha

The Rudraksha tree grows in Southeast Asia, Nepal, the Himalayas, as well as New Guinea and Australia. Its blue seeds are thought to represent Shiva, the Destroyer’s tears. According to legend, when Shiva saw how his people were suffering, he shed one tear, which developed into the Rudraksha tree. Rudrashka is derived from the words “Rudra” (another name for Shiva) and “Aksha,” which means “eyes.” Prayer beads and rosaries are made from the seeds of this tree.
