Peony

Shyness, healing, riches, honor, nobility, peace, and good fortune are all represented by this symbol.

Apollo had a fling with a nymph named Paeonia in Greek mythology. Paeonia blushed red when Aphrodite spotted her flirting with Apollo. Aphrodite transformed her into the modern-day peony flower. Peonies have traditionally been used to treat snake bites and epilepsy. In China, peonies are highly prized. They were considered China’s king of flowers and were planted in the Imperial Palace. The peony is a symbol of peace and good fortune in Japan.
