Peace Flag

The Italian word PACE, which means ‘peace,’ is boldly printed on this rainbow flag, which originated in Italy. The rainbow-colored worldwide peace flag was originally used in Italy in 1961 during a peace march organized by pacifist and social philosopher Aldo Capitini (1899–1968) from Perugia to Assisi. Capitini had some Perugia women put up colored strips of material in a hurry, inspired by the peace banners used in British peace marches.
