The lotus flower has been used in numerous Buddhist teachings to convey the fundamental nature of all humanity. The lotus plant’s roots are buried deep in the mud, but it nevertheless grows above the murky water and blooms into a lovely, sweet-smelling flower. The lotus can be compared to how we rise above our trials and tribulations to achieve enlightenment, beauty, and clarity.
In Buddhism, different colored lotus plants represent different things. White symbolizes spiritual and mental purity, pink symbolizes the traditional Buddha, purple symbolizes mysticism, crimson symbolizes love and compassion, and blue symbolizes wisdom.
