Easter Basket

Symbol of wealth, womb, and fertility.

On Easter Sunday, children are given Easter baskets. They’re chock-full of candy and fun toys for the kids to enjoy. The Easter Bunny delivers the Easter gifts to the kids. In the spring, ancient Germanic tribes would place seedlings in baskets and bring them to the temple to be blessed by the goddess Ostara. Ostara carried a basket of eggs to symbolize the womb and to stimulate fertility. Baskets were also utilized to transport food to festivities in ancient civilizations.
